FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Capabilities, a unique retailer in Westminster with lifestyle products for health, comfort and independence, is pleased to announce its newly formed partnership with the Rocky Mountain Stroke Association (RMSA). Starting September 6, 2006, RMSA houses its satellite services for the north Metro area at Capabilities in a large space donated by the retailer. RMSA will offer physical therapy, an individualized speech lab, support groups and a caregiver education series to stroke survivors and their families.
Already more than a store, Capabilities provides workshops on a variety of topics to the public free of charge, donates its large conference space to support groups and local businesses, offers traveling clinics for safety checks and servicing of mobility equipment throughout the Metro area, and conducts in-home evaluations.
Owners Pam Pressel and Kathryn Arbour have positioned Capabilities as a go to place for resources in the community. This alliance with RMSA fits our business model perfectly, says Pressel. Arbour adds that with our fragmented health care system Capabilities serves an important role in helping individuals and families piece together the resources and products they need to address illness, injury and the natural challenges of aging.
Esther Fretz, RMSA's Executive Director explains the growth of their program as a natural result of the outreach she and her team have done since the programs inception in 1992. Says Amy Diller, Program Coordinator, By offering satellite services at Capabilities, RMSA will draw from even more Colorado communities, fulfilling our mission to address stroke prevention education and offer recovery support to survivors and their families.
The first sessions launch on September 6, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. For more information, call Rocky Mountain Stroke Association at 303-730-8800 or Capabilities at 720-214-0339.
